About Me…
My work as a geology professor is simply an extension of my love of the outdoors. Whenever I have a free moment you can find me engaged in some activity out in the wild – hiking, fishing, backpacking, traveling, hunting, cycling, running, triathlon (I’ve completed in 8 Ironman events), you name it (in this case, Burning Man 2019 with my crazy wife Karen). I love extreme environments, and feel the most alive when I’m someplace new.
